I know it must SEEM like I live a high-falutin' life of jet setting and whatnot, but I swear it isn't so. That being said, we are on a roadtrip to Denver, this time to spend Thanksgiving with family. I promise I won't spend every minute, when I get back, talking about all the awesome places I eat. Mostly because I'll probably be eating at the same places, and really, how many times can I review the same place, right? BUT if anyone has a local eatery that I shouldn't miss, I'm always sitting here with my ears spread.

In other, you know, food related news, Fat Hubby and I were commiserating (somewhere in mid-Utah) that so many people do Monte Cristos wrong. Don't ask me what brought the subject up; you know how random and meandering roadtrip conversations can be. For those of you who may not know, a PROPER Monte Cristo is two thick slices of potato bread, soaked in custard and french-toast-ified, then used to make a ham & swiss sammich, with the ham shaved paper-thin and the swiss sliced on the thickish side of medium, no mustard, no mayo, and then that WHOLE SAMMICH is dunked in funnel cake batter and deep fried, then sliced on the diagonal and served with piping hot seedless red raspberry jam.
